The views of this article are the perspective of the author and may not be reflective of Confessions of the Professions.
I watched as the number of confessions increased, 10. 100. 1,000. 2,000. 3,000. 4,000. And now 5,000 confessions. What more is there to say other than thank you? There’s still plenty to say! Honestly could not have done it without every single one of you! Yes, you keep reading these confessions and we plan to keep this website going! There have been many ideas that have sprung up with a variety of different confessions about work. Confessions of the Professions has been here since the start of my own career.
5,000 articles is no easy task. I am only personally responsible for about 750 confessions out of 5,000, which is 15% of all the confessions published on this website. I am so happy to say I could not have kept this website going without your support, your views, your reads, and your articles that you personally have written and it belonged on this website! This is my special place as much as it is yours! Although I must admit, I feel I have gotten past my worst days at work, surviving tyrant bosses and egoistic supervisors, so writing has become less for me, as they were the ones who supplied a lot of my material.
That is okay though! Confessions of the Professions is more than just writing about people who piss me off! It was created for the purpose of studying human psychology in the workplace and workplace psychology on the human. Yes, they go hand in hand with aspects of industrial-organizational psychology, social psychology, and everything in between. While humans are more than always willing to work, for the most part, there is a time coming where humans will work less until they get the respect and pay they need to live.
Yes, it is over 10 years old, receiving upwards of 2 to 3 million visitors a month and boasts over 1,800 contributing authors and 5,000 confessions. It is responsible for sponsoring the My Life As A Woman Project, which was sponsored from several different sources. It spawned a focus on a blog that brought up several ideas about retirement, known as RetireTheory. And the list goes on and on about the creativity, inspiration, ambition, and influence it passes on to its readers.
There is a reason it remains popular and strong to this day. As I’ve said in the past, I’ve been ready to walk away from it several times, but then, you email me. Yes, you. You keep emailing me. And I want to tell you to stop doing that, but I really think you should keep emailing me. Because I want you to help me keep this website going. And you do!
Your confessions are so greatly appreciated. We are currently exploring the topic of ChatGPT and AI to help write future articles on this website and while you may feel its competition, we feel it can actually spark new ideas and thoughts on varying topics. We have posted just a few, which can be found under “Confessions GPT“. All of our authors are real life people including myself, who will continue to write topics that come to mind, but at least 5,000 articles were published on this website before we introduced the idea of Confessions GPT.
We hope you continue to read our confessions and enjoy this website. This confessions now marks the 5,000 published article on this website. We have no plans to stop and we’re only going to keep this going for as long as I personally am alive. Once I am gone, so too, is the website, but I will fight to keep it going to my last breath. I appreciate you and thank you for reading.
See you again at the next milestone!
