Study reveals the most emotionally intelligent phrases used at work
73% say emotional quotient (EQ) is more important than intelligence quotient (IQ) at work.
The workplace has changed in 2023- big time. With people prioritizing respect, boundaries and communication, the topic of emotional intelligence is at the forefront of many jobseekers and employees’ minds.
To discover what workers’ opinions are regarding emotional intelligence in the workplace, along with what industries display the highest EQ’s, Preply surveyed 1000 people across 35 industries.
Key Findings:
Nearly 3 in 4 respondents (73%) say emotional quotient (EQ) is more important than intelligence quotient (IQ).
“I appreciate you/your work” was voted the most emotionally intelligent phrase at work.
Human Resources is the department where respondents reported finding the people with the highest EQ.
On average, workers say about half of their bosses have lacked emotional intelligence.
Business Management & Administration ranked highest on our EQ scale.
Hospitality & Tourism Industry ranked lowest.
