A new study is diving into what skills Americans have set their sights on to learn this year and picking up a new language is a priority.
Key findings:
56% of respondents feel their current skill set inhibits how much money they can earn.
30% of people who said they want to learn a language say their desire to learn is for professional development or advancing their career.
46% believe learning a new language will give them a competitive advantage in their career.
48% have given up learning a new skill in a few weeks or less and 26% gave up within a matter of days.
A significant 46% have at some point felt too old to begin learning a new skill.
- The top factors hindering Americans’ skill acquisition are: patience, mental health, and coordination.
