Female Cybersecurity Leaders
As the global electric grid becomes increasingly dependent on the internet for operations, so does the likelihood for cyber attacks. Disturbing reports are frequently brought to light disclosing the growing amount of sophisticated and widespread attacks. Breaches in security affect government agencies, political campaign offices, financial institutions and major corporations with many citizens and consumers paying the price. In short, the demand for cybersecurity professionals is on the rise, yet, this fast-growing job continues to experience a major labor crisis.
However, to address the cybersecurity skills gap, we first must address the gender gap. The tech industry has long been infamous for gender bias and little progress when it comes to equitable wages. So, while women represent a highly skilled and under-tapped resource, little has been done to challenge the status quo of gender discrimination, and encourage more women in tech.
In an effort bridge the skills gap, we’ve analyzed the women who hold leading cybersecurity positions in Fortune 500 companies from educational background, to work experience, and time in the industry.
