[Report] Nearly 1 in 4 Americans Use TikTok as a Search Engine
A new report shedding light on American internet usage found that Americans, and especially Gen Z, are diversifying their search efforts: nearly 1 in 4 Americans use TikTok to search for information.
- It takes an average of 5 minutes for Americans to find the information they need online
- Top overall search queries include online shopping, news, and random questions
- 69% are concerned their browser histories are being sold
Of all the generations, Gen Z uses Google the least (68%) and Youtube the most (13%), with over 1 in 10 Gen Zers using the video platform to find information. Americans spend an average of 7 hours daily on the internet, and most prioritize trustworthiness when they click on a site.
Given that TikTok might be banned in the U.S., now is a great time to share these insights with your audience. Take a look at the full report for how Americans choose what to click on, and what annoys them the most while searching.
