Making Peace With Our Most Regrettable Texts
As Americans continue to practice social distancing, our phones are our main connection to friends, loved ones, and potential suitors. Without face-to-face contact, each text carries more weight than ever before… including those messages we wish we never sent.
A new study by Basic Seltzer has revealed that nearly 1 in 5 regrettable texts were sent when alcohol was involved. With people both texting and drinking more while staying home during COVID-19, it could be a recipe for disaster.
- The most common recipients of regrettable texts are exes (26%) and friends (21%)
- 62% have messaged someone they swore they wouldn’t when the night started
- 39% have had a relationship end because of a regrettable text and 35% have lost a friend over one
