Americans are socializing in new ways in the wake of social distancing. A new study of 2,000 people revealed 55% have joined in on so-called “virtual” happy hours to keep in touch with friends and colleagues as they work from home.
Highlights include:
- 34% say they’re socializing more with coworkers during quarantine
- Top platforms: 51% use Zoom, 38% use FaceTime, 32% use Skype
- Industries doing the most virtual happy hours: Finance, engineering, & insurance
- While 78% say they don’t dress up for virtual hangouts, 42% are self conscious about their coworkers seeing their homes.
