Millennial Attitudes Towards Aging, Retirement, and Shared Future
New data shows millennial attitudes about aging, retirement and our shared future. Known as the “me” generation, millennials are often hard to predict. So predicting how millennials will deal with saving for retirement is tricky. A recent survey by Aperion Care, set out to find out more about millennial attitudes about their future. They surveyed 2,000 millennials to get a sense on their predictions on life expectancy, retirement, politics and technology.
Some highlights from the survey results:
- Millennials think they will live to an average age of 81
- As many as 34% of millennials believe they only need $200,000 or less to retire comfortably
- A quarter of millennials plan on having zero children
- 55% of millennials think they they’ll be about the same or worse off than their parents.
- 51% of millennials think global warming will not be reversible
- 80% of millennials think they will see a woman become president of the United States in their lifetime
