Web Design
Confused about what web design is (and what it isn’t)? That’s understandable. Web design is actually a pretty big category.
A web designer is like a sculptor — but instead of making art, they’re making a website. The web designer is responsible for planning and conceptualizing the site. Then, they shape and mold it into reality using a variety of tools.
Web design requires coding, interface design, graphic design, SEO, software design, and user experience design.
It’s great for a web designer to have any or all of the above skills, but they’re not actually necessary. Many web designers will assemble a team of professionals to help make their vision a reality. And it can all be done virtually!
Digital Marketing
You’ve probably got some idea of what marketing is, right? It’s promoting a business, product, or service through and advertising and promotions. The efforts are targeted based on market research.
Digital marketing is pretty much the same thing, but it refers specifically to online marketing. Digital marketers put heavy emphasis on social media channels like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. Efforts might involve influencer marketing, digital ads, or online giveaways or promotions.
Digital marketing, as the name implies, is conducted remotely — meaning it’s a great career choice if you want to work from home.
Project Manager
A project manager is sort of like a movie producer — but instead of making a movie, they’re working on any number of different projects. It might be a product, an event, a publication — really, just about any project that’s large in scope.
The project manager isn’t responsible for completing the different parts of the project themselves. However, they still have a very important role. It’s their job to make sure that everyone is completing their tasks or portion of the larger project and handing it in on time. This ensures that the overall project can be completed and delivered or executed as planned.
Project management does require working with lots of different personality types, but it doesn’t often doesn’t require being in a specific location. That makes it a great option for working at home.
Stock Trading
Did you know that day trading is one of the fastest-growing professions in 2020?
It’s not hard to see the appeal. In a volatile stock market, stocks can experience massive gains in short periods of time. For day traders, this can create opportunities for fast, exponential account growth.
Penny stocks, or stocks trading for $5 or less per share, make day trading accessible to those starting with small accounts. However, just because it’s easy to get started with day trading doesn’t mean it’s an endeavor that should be entered lightly.
Day trading can be extremely risky — many new traders will fail. To help avoid that fate, it’s important to take the time to learn how the stock market works before you start putting money into the market.
