Calculator For Bitcoin
With the cryptocurrency Bitcoin continuing to rise (quickly) in value, we’ve just launched an interactive calculator which lets you calculate how much an early investment would be worth today.
Prepare to be shocked and left kicking yourself that you didn’t invest in the early days.
If you suffer from FOMO, this probably isn’t for you!
Had you invested just £100 on 30th August 2010, when Bitcoin first became available, you would now be sitting on a fortune of £10.8 million.
Yes, really! That’s how much the value of Bitcoin has grown in recent years.
This calculator lets you choose an investment date and the investment amount and shows you a real-time value of what your Bitcoin wallet would look like today, as well as the percentage growth since the initial investment.
“Bitcoin recently has blown up, in many regards. A cryptocurrency with very little government control, or a prominent business controlling it. The service is completely “peer to peer”, meaning that transactions and interaction aren’t regulated, and they’re all hosted on each users network. There are no individual servers, so the service would be almost impossible to take offline. And the most valuable attribute to some is that all transactions can be made entirely anonymously, with very little information to trace.
Recently the value of a Bitcoin has skyrocketed, with more people creating accounts, or wallets, than ever. A Bitcoin is a reward for programs completing difficult mathematical equations (known as Mining) and also supporting the network by processing transactions. There is a limited amount of Bitcoin available, but due to it being capped, it can’t be affected by traditional inflation that we witness with banks.
The calculator shows that if you’d made a £100 investment in November 2012, you’d currently have a Bitcoin wallet worth £244k, a 245k% increase in your investment. The increase since launch is huge. One of the first purchases using Bitcoin was a pizza for 200 Bitcoin; which at current value is over £1M.”
