We all know tech jobs offer the big bucks, but do you know just how much salary they pay? What about at the start, middle and the end of their careers?
We’ve worked with eCard Shack to reveal the top paying tech jobs and their benchmark salaries across their career using LinkedIn data.

Here are some hooks the piece reveals:
– The top paying jobs in tech – Data Scientist (average pay $106,000), Data Engineer (average pay $100,000) and UX Designer (average pay $83,000) are the 3 top paying jobs in tech. Other jobs include Solutions Architect, Electrical Engineer, Software Engineer, QA Manager and Hardware Engineer.
– The top-paying locations for tech jobs – San Francisco Bay, home of the Silicon Valley, is the top spot for the highest paying jobs. Seattle takes 2nd place and New York is 3rd. Other locations include LA, Washington, North Carolina, Houston, Texas and Austin, Texas.
– Tech jobs are among highest-paid in the US – according to the annual salary survey by Dice, the average job in tech in the US pays $96,370. A jump of 7.7% from the previous year.
– Solutions Architect roles pay the most at the beginning – Solutions Architects in training should expect to receive up to $105k in their first year. On average, they don’t see their next big pay rise until their 6th year in the job, where the salary is $120k.
– Electrical Engineer roles pay the least at the beginning (but have the biggest pay rise) – The starting salary for an Electrical Engineer is on average $65k. This job offers the biggest jump in salary, after the 6th year Electrical Engineers will go from earning $70k to a whopping $120k. A massive $50k increase!
