A new year has dawned on us again and for a lot of people, this is the perfect time to create new beginning and start anew. If you think that you were not able to be productive enough at your work during the year that past, now is the time for you to get back on your feet and boost your office productivity. Of course, nothing beats having productivity resolution to welcome 2014.
At first, the list will look a bit daunting for you. It will feel like these things are quite impossible to achieve. The secret is to ease through your list slowly. Take one bite at a time. After all, you will need to take time in developing healthy and good habits.
With that in mind, here are some of productivity resolutions that you should get done this 2014:
– Stop procrastinating.
This might be the oldest resolution in the book but it is the most effective one. If you really wish to be productive, then you must stop procrastinating. Stop letting important must- do’s from piling up. Stop scheduling for tomorrow the things that you can get done today.
– Organize your activities.
Arrange your work days in a way where you can tackle the most important priorities first. In this way, you will be able to save time and be a lot more efficient. In the end, you will get to increase your productivity at work. Start with the most important task so that you will be inspired to tackle on more tasks throughout the day.
– Stick to your work schedule.
Of course, you have to make sure that you establish a realistic and good work schedule. After creating a great work schedule, make sure that you will be able to stick to it.
– Say no.
At times, you can’t help but say yes to additional work or task. While this will make you a good player, this is not highly recommended if you already have too many things on your plate. Learn to say no from time to time, especially if the occasion calls for it.
– Avoid browsing through social media sites.
Having your Facebook page open while doing work can be really distracting. It will prevent you from finishing work on time. What’s worse, you might even end up browsing through the page the whole day.
– Take advantage of technology.
There are now many phone and tablet apps that can help you increase productivity. There are lots of task managers and apps that can help you determine what is the best schedule to go through the entire day that will make you most productive.
– Work in spurts.
Working throughout the entire day can be really tiring. It is best that you divide the work day into power periods with rest periods in between. In this way, you won’t easily get burnt out.
– Incorporate some down time into your day.
You need rest from time to time so do not be afraid in having down time. This can help in establishing a creative mind.
– Arrange your work space in a way that it will push you to be more productive.
Think about your work flow during an entire day and arrange your office in a way that it will help promote productivity.
– Email more efficiently.
Create a great email discipline that would work well for you.
