[Survey] Finances and Self-Care: Americans Cutting Back Citing Cost
Study: 1 in 4 Americans Feel Guilty Pampering Themselves
Finances are stressful. Since May is Mental Health Awareness Month I wanted to send you this new report about how much Americans are spending to address burnout and stress.
According to a nationwide survey, Americans spend on average $83 a month on self-care.
- Nearly half are taking care of themselves less in 2023 due to cost
- 1 in 4 admit to overspending when pampering themselves
- 3 in 10 have regretted how much they’ve spent
86% say self-care helps with burnout, but 1 in 4 Americans feel guilty pampering themselves. Nearly half say it’s hard this year citing cost, not enough time and fighting mental health
And we can’t forget to mention moms since Mother’s Day is this weekend. Nearly 1 in 3 plan to give pampering services or self-care items for Mother’s Day. This year the top pampering gifts include massages, spa gift certificates, hotel or Airbnb gift cards, manicures, pedicures, and candles.
