The Thirst For Knowledge And Truth
Previously in the Human Greed series, we discussed the downfall of humanity and one step closer to extinct. In this confession, we seek to understand why having knowledge and truth will still ultimately lead us to our downfall.
There is no greater power in the world than knowledge. Knowledge separates us from ignorance and allows us to be considered as intelligent sentient beings. Knowledge that is truthful is the only thing that can lead us on a path where we can find well-being, peace, happiness, tranquility, and serenity. Knowledge is what will lead us to eliminate poverty, greed, corruption, and destruction, which are the very things that keep the world from maturing as the human race.
When knowledge is used against a human being or kept from a human being, it has a trickle effect of rendering human beings powerless and ignorant to a greater understanding. Fortunately in this modern world of technology, for the most part, we have the Internet of freely available information, but unfortunately, the fear of the governments or people in power of human beings having knowledge is greater in certain countries, such as Russia, China, or the Middle Eastern countries, which choose to censor as much information as possible.
What type of reality could a person possibly know or live in where the Internet and what is read is censored? Where books are banned or information is not accessible because the government fears what people will do with the knowledge is tyranny. Keeping people ignorant, however, is safe in the interim, until one day, a rebellion may be possible. What are such advantages of keeping knowledge from people? What is the outcome of ignorance for centuries?
Why is progression and advancement not the goal of the human race, but to simply keep people obeying like cattle or sheep is more important for the wolves to maintain control over the population. Keeping people spending money on useless materials instead of utilzing it for the greater good is what keeps people in control. How long can the human race remain ignorant to the fact that its very governments, while able to maintain control, do not fully trust its people, while the governments themselves, are filled with people who have learned to manipulate the system to favor their own lifestyles.
Freedom of information and freedom from censorship is the last and only human right that we have before we are enslaved as a society. The media has complete controlled censorship in the type of information that is shown. If the “big six” control the information that the world is allowed to know and there is just about a hundred or two hundred people who rule the world and keep things running to favor them, in which case, the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer, than this type of leadership and censorship can only lead to the inevitable downfall of humanity.
This type of greed is nothing new and no civilization on this Earth is guaranteed existence. A look back on Egyptian, Babylonian, Aztec, and Inca history, along with many other societies reveals that they disappeared without a trace of DNA, or the fact that they were our ancestors, but we have no idea that they are, because all they have left to us are artifacts and remnants of their forgotten cultures, which modern man can only piece together today by digging and carefully brushing off these ancient artifacts.
Greed and corruption was as much of a problem in those societies as it is today, with the same thoughts of censorship and keeping the public from knowing as much of what would have been considered “forbidden information.” For millenia, people thought the Egyptians and Persian kings were born of the gods without any question, and this may have been true, but we know they kept it in the family or married only royalty, also passed down and seen in Roman, Greek, Spanish, British, French, and Italian culture. The common thought then was that an “elite group” always needs to rule the “lesser group”. This is still as prominent today in corporate and capitalistic United States and the world, where CEOs, politicians, congressmen and congresswomen and their families are the “ruling class” over the “working class”, “middle class”, and “the poor class”.
We may have technology that allows us to consider ourselves advanced, but our thought process of government and society is as ancient as ancient societies, probably with just a few more rights than those people had. We have the right to read information; we have the right to go to work; have children; own a house; and of course, we have the right to remain silent. Perhaps humans remain with this “ruling class” mindset because they are prone to it, as the beehive or the ant colony has not changed in millions of years, and the Queen has ruled and will forever rule.
In the Middle Ages, the Dark Ages, when the Catholic Church was the dominant form of power and controlled what people could and could not do and controlled what they could and could not read, often interpreting their own version of the Bible, the people followed happily and blindly, like sheep, although the censorship of knowledge would soon lead to a rebellion that has sparked an abundance of different versions of Christianity and Bible interpretation.
The limitations of information can only control humans for a time before human beings cannot and will not accept the force of control upon them. The most evil of governments are the ones who have learned to manipulate their populations to the point where the people have no idea they are being controlled by a series of unnecessary laws that have taken away more freedom in favor of government control, and the illusion of freedom is all the people have remaining.
Freedom to the greedy and the corrupt is a dangerous weapon in the hands of the society who possesses it. The freedom to think for ourselves and affect and influence change can be dangerous to governments. When a government loses control of the people, it is no longer an effective government. Our “freedom” is as free as the ruling government allows it to be. Our quest for truth and knowledge is as limited as our governments allow them to be.
The destiny of human beings has already been set by the ruling class, and the limits on the advancement of society are controlled by those who are in power who want to limit that advancement, for if the human race advances too fast, perhaps that leads to our inevitable doom, or the ruling class may know that a society that is not under control is more prone to its own destruction than being under control, or at least, being under control buys society more time to thrive before its inevitable path to destruction.
The freedom to read this website, form opinions, and make logical conclusions is the best type of freedom we all have, as it is simply information and knowledge. It, like many other websites, suggests nothing other than to read the article and form your opinions, make your own judgement, and do with the information what you will. The freedom to write your own opinions and thoughts and ideas and suggestions and rants and fears are the only freedom that we as human beings really have. The freedom of information is the only real freedom we all have anymore and once this is censored, limited, or blocked, all of our other rights are no longer ours. Once freedom of information is no longer ours, than we are all just a race of mindless beings; and a race of mindless beings ought not be human at all.
