The Savings Of Toilet Paper
Chances are, if you live toilet paper roll batch to toilet paper roll batch, you’re struggling financially. If you have an overabundance of toilet paper, or manage to get it when it is always on sale, usually reduced by $2 or $3 up to $5 off, or you’re able to purchase it in bulk at 36 rolls instead of 8 rolls, and despite that not sounding like a whole lot of savings, it really states a lot about you and your savings habits.
If you think about what toilet paper is, what you mainly do with it, you’re literally wiping your own shit, your own ass, with money. It is convenient and something that was made popular by Americans and spread worldwide. It has become the common way to wipe ourselves after having gone to the bathroom. For women, it is used for nearly everything they need: pee, poop, periods. For men, it can be used to wipe ourselves and clean up after ourselves when we accidentally trinkle on to the toilet seat or toilet itself.
Despite the fact that efforts have been made to implement less costly solutions, such as the bidet, or possibly even hopping into the shower without wiping (which is not as common though some of us have found ourselves in those emergency situations), the world still favors toilet paper. But how you save toilet paper truly depends on your financial situation and how you think about savings.
Think about it: If you wait for toilet paper to run out and then go buy more, you’re likely living paycheck to paycheck, and it is not a thought. You know the store will have it so you head out to get it when you can. You might also go weekly or monthly grocery shopping and add it to your list. Rather than living paycheck to paycheck, you are a planner with your money. In other circumstances, that allow it, you might go buy in bulk, or wait until a sale is going on.
The more money you have and the more likely you are to take advantage of sales, rather than buy toilet paper when you are desperate for it, you are going to save more and have the privilege of spending your money elsewhere. Toiler paper buying habits can reveal a lot about your money saving habits. Do you buy in bulk? Do you buy in desperation? Do you buy whenever you see it on sale? And more importantly, just how many square blocks are you using when you wipe? All of these things reveal just how much you care about your money, all with the understanding of how you use your toilet paper.
This is not to say that there is the occasional entire unrolling, courtesy of the cat, or the fact that you or someone in your household accidentally dropped an entire roll in the toilet paper, and believe its contaminated now. Even myself, personally, have actually grabbed it out of the toilet, and put it in the window sill so that the sun could properly dry it out, and wallah! A dry toilet paper roll ready for use! When it comes to your toilet, it is usually not the water that is dirty, but rather the toilet itself. While it is highly recommended you do not drink or allow anyone to drink from your toilet, it definitely won’t kill you if you touch the water within the toilet.
When households have the cash on hand or even are up to date with their credit card bills, commonly look at the circular, or take advantage of ongoing sales, they are ultimately going to save more, despite it looking like more at the time, as they are less likely to go shopping again for that particular item until it begins to run low again, at which point, the buyer must decide: when is the warning for buying more toilet paper? While I don’t have an exact answer, the better question to ask is: How often does this sale happen? If it happens once or twice a year, than the household should stock up accordingly. When it comes to your toilet paper, it is already bad enough that you are figuratively wiping your ass with your own money — unless of course you pooping at work — but ultimately, if you can learn about the actual price of toilet paper when it is not on sale vs. when it is on sale, you will learn just how much money you are literally wiping away everyday.
